Twenty-five workers from the Marabella warehouse of Pepsi Cola Trinidad Bottling Company have been retrenched.
The Company is saying it had no choice but to lay off workers after the warehouse was ordered closed.
The move by Pepsi is not sitting well with the National Trade Union Center.
General Secretary Vincent Cabrera yesterday said the retrenchment is an attempt by the Company to avoid Union Representation.
Mr. Cabrera said it is another indicator of the need for amended Labour Laws.
